How do Jakado’s Patola sarees differ from the Patan and Rajkot names?
Jakado’s Patola sarees are woven on jacquard looms in Surat, not by hand. The Registry describes Patan Patola as prepared on a single loom operated by hand, and Rajkot Patola as totally hand created. We say so plainly so you can describe our sarees accurately to your own customers.
Does Jakado weave single ikat or double ikat Patola?
We do not describe our Patola by those terms. The Registry lists Rajkot Patola as single ikat woven sarees, and the applicant for Patan Patola is the Patan Double Ikat Patola Weavers Association. Jakado’s designs are jacquard woven, and the current ones can be seen on WhatsApp.
